Minhang District Maqiao Community Health Center, originated in 1958, was recognized as a primary grade A hospital in 1993. Located in the central area of Maqiao Town, Minhang District, the Center covering an area of 5,326.3 square meters has a total floorage of 4504.87 square meters, with 96 authorized sickbeds and actual 166 available sickbeds. By the end of 2007, the Center had had a total of 64 staff, with 52 professional technical personnel, among whom 21 had been doctors, with 15 nurses, 2 medical technicians, 6 pharmacists, 7 preventive health care personnel and 5 accounting and registration staff. Boasting 12 staff with intermediate professional title and 38 with primary professional title, the Center is made up of Outpatient Clinic and Inpatient Department. Outpatient Clinic has two general practice departments, one traditional Chinese medicine department and one stomatology department while Inpatient Department mainly provides medical services for patients with chronic diseases and elderly patients. Besides, it has three medical laboratories and three functional divisions. The Center now has 22 advanced equipment worth over RMB10,000, including Cms9000 multi-parameter monitor, SSD-1000 Aloka B-type ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus, 24-hour Holter analysis system, F52-8C medical diagnostic X-ray machine, SB-220 automatic biochemical analyzer, LBY-N6K blood viscosity analyzer, RT-2600C microplate reader, GEB-200 urine analyzer, ABY-60 hematology analyzer, DSI-905 electrolyte analyzer, EHK-40 red blood cell sedimentation hematocrit instrument, JZC spinal traction bed and JZC-III heated spinal traction bed. In 2007, the Center saw am outpatient and emergency visits of over 59,000 and treated 508 inpatients, with the total revenue of RMB11.20 million.
Integrating the six service functions of medical treatment, prevention, health care, rehabilitation, health education and family planning, the Center is a primary grade A hospital. To facilitate the transformation of medical model and the rational utilization of medical resources, the Center has in recent years invested a lot for an overhaul, and was facelifted into a standardized community health center of Shanghai in 2003.
